Yes, you can run on AC, but with some difficulty. I have an M1710 and I play AOC. Heating, if it is played. Also close again due to overheating. The graphics card is the main theme. Unfortunately, the M1710, as he went, he had available.even two GeForce cards are not adjustment with internal fans and a cooling pad, which is still warm, and very likely to be closed, and he did it. Also, the fps (frames per second) are most common in 20fps max. Is nervous, but playable.
My suggestion, if you use this laptop to find ice packs with condensation coming .... lol
